Rapid City Rush Receive Rights to Pierre-Luc Mercier from Adirondack Thunder

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush have received Pierre-Luc Mercier from the Adirondack Thunder to complete the Kenton Miller trade from earlier this season.

Mercier just completed his rookie season of professional hockey, all spent with the ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder. The 6’1”, 185-pound forward played in all but four regular season games, tabulating totals of 17 goals, 25 assists, and 42 points in 68 games, and added another 4 assists in 14 Kelly Cup Playoff games. His season ended in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Florida Everblades, who just finished as the runner-up to the two-time champion archrival Colorado Eagles.

A native of Verdun, Quebec, Mercier played four seasons of college hockey with Bowling Green State University in the NCAA before beginning his professional career. With the Falcons, he compiled career totals of 22 goals, 54 assists, and 76 points in 157 games. His best collegiate season came in his sophomore campaign, when he set his personal highs in all offensive categories with 8 goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 38 games.
