Wichita Thunder Sign Dana Tyrell

Wichita, KS – The Wichita Thunder announced the team has signed forward Dana Tyrell to a standard player contract.

Tyrell, 28, brings a wealth of experience to the Air Capital. A native of Airdrie, Alberta, the 5-foot-10, 192-pound forward was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (#47, 2nd round). Tyrell broke into the pro ranks in 2009-10 with the Norfolk Admirals, recording 36 points (9g, 27a) in 74 games. He made his NHL debut in 2010-11, appearing in 78 games with the Lightning. Overall, Tyrell has 232 games of AHL experience and 135 games in the NHL.
